Small Group Collaborative Coaching
I understand the need for personalized support that goes beyond the one-size-fits-all approach. Introducing Small Group Collaborative Coaching – your pathway to real, sustainable, and joyful learning in the math classroom.
The Format
Part 1: Session Launch.
We’ll start by getting everyone oriented towards a shared learning focus area. This can happen 2 ways:
Option 1: A Workshop.
- This comes in the form of a live, 1 hour virtual webinar (and recording) for the whole staff or to a smaller group.
Option 2: Self-Exploration.
- This comes in the form of an exploration of topics and ideas shared on the Mathematizing247 blog and beyond. I will carefully curate a list of resources to explore (blog posts, podcasts and videos), around a guided focus. FREE
Part 2: Small Group Coaching.
After we have completed step 1, we will hold a series of small group collaborative coaching sessions:
- Interactive sessions.
- Discuss math celebrations, personal wonders, and challenges.
- Engage in content-specific math learning.
- Set personal intentions for implementation.
Our goal is to equip group members with the tools and inspiration they need to implement ideas in each of their personal contexts, beyond our sessions.
Scheduling: Sessions are tailored to your needs, ideally spaced a few weeks apart in a series of 3, 5 or 8 consecutive sessions. Cost: Conact Kendra for an experience tailored to your needs.
What I bring to our sessions: A compass for your math journey!
In my 15+ years experience in education, I have developed a deep understanding of what it takes to build a thriving and vibrant community of mathematicians, balancing competencies and content. My journey involves working with numerous teachers to guide them to successfully build their own thriving math environments. Simultaneously, I've immersed myself in current mathematics research and theory. While math wasn't always my forte, I transformed my mindset, a story you can explore here. Delve into my shared math ideas for more insights or read the blog.
I believe my extensive experience, coupled with attentive listening, positions me as a compass for teachers. My role is to guide them from their current location to their desired destination, drawing on tailored insights. By carefully addressing individual wonders and challenges, I provide resources, practices, and ideas for implementation. Together, we can foster a community of thriving mathematicians, ensuring both children and educators experience the joy of mathematical exploration.

Angelica
I really appreciate the resources you've shared with me. I've used them in class and they were helpful when scaffolding. I am mostly afraid that I will be judged for my abilities, but that doesn't worry me when we talk.I am still insecure about my ability to teach math, but that's exactly why I've asked for help!
